Whitestrand B&B at Malin Head

A warm welcome awaits you here at Whitestrand B&B in Malin Head at the NORTHERN tip of the Wild Atlantic Way coastal route. Since 2000 I have been welcoming guests from all over the world. I have been in the hospitality business since 1976, starting off young at my aunty’s B&B, always have enjoyed making guests feel right at home.

Many have returned for several visits, being drawn back by the variety of activities and attractions on offer in this area of outstanding natural beauty. In 2016 a section of the latest Star Wars movie was filmed close by. Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean with the dolphins, diving, surfing, sailing, walking with alpacas are just a five-minute drive away. Horse riding near Malin Village.

This area, with its rugged landscape, is a haven for cyclists, walkers and birdwatchers alike and it is one of the few remaining area in Ireland where you still hear the endangered bird ‘Corncrake’  calling during the short nights around midsummer (on the property)

Many visitors have come especially to view the famed Northern Lights. They have been enthralled at the spectacular red and green shimmering lights of the Aurora Borealis in the skies over Malin Head.

A twenty minute drive will take you to the Doagh Famine Village where you will get a sense of what people endured and how they survived during the Irish Famine of the 1840s. A short distance further along this road you will return to the twenty first century when you enter the renowned Ballyliffin golf course.

We have 3 bedrooms with sea views, all of which have ensuite bathrooms, multichannel TV, free WIFI broadband and there is also a tea & coffee station

A dining establishment in close proximity (less than 5 minutes drive) is known as the ‘Seaview Tavern’ I would be delighted to arrange a reservation for our guests, they have seafood, gluten free & vegan options.

FOR BREAKFAST, this can be described as a ‘3- COURSE MEAL‘

• Firstly there is homemade baking on the table, a selection of fresh fruits, homemade jams and a variety of juices– either cranberry, orange or apple juice!
• Then there is an option for variety of cereals including freshly made porridge.
• For main breakfast there is an option of a cooked Irish breakfast, omelettes, different style of eggs including poached, fried, boiled or scrambled, tasty pancakes, french toast and on request avocado, gluten-free breakfast, vegetarian breakfast and vegan breakfast!
